‘Let’s Meat Less’ Wants to Help You Eat Less Meat To Do More Good
Resource now available to provide recipes, videos and other ideas to take meat out of a meal.
These days it’s easier than ever to take meat out of a meal. There are so many easy-to-make and great-tasting plant-based recipes and meat alternatives that it’s actually fun to do it. And that’s the idea behind the launch of Let’s Meat Less, to help all of us give a little less meat a try.
We want to make it easy and enjoyable, because eating less meat is a great way to do some real good. Good for your health. Good for the environment. And good for a lot of beautiful animals.
Let’s Meat Less is designed to be a comprehensive resource, something that was developed to provide everyone with new and exciting recipes, videos, the latest information and a lot more, all of which they can use to make a little less meat a simple reality. And no one needs to be an expert. We like to say that you can be part of making the world better. No experience necessary.
A recent study from Oxford University showed that reducing your consumption of animal products lowers your risk of heart disease, high blood pressure, type-2 diabetes and so much more. Everybody wants to be healthier these days, and Let’s Meat Less wants to help.
Studies have also shown that reducing the amount of animal products you eat is the single biggest way to reduce your impact on the environment — more than all forms of transportation, combined. That’s because it’s not just the animals themselves, but the incredible amount of water, pesticides, and energy it takes to raise them.
And, of course, there are the animals. These beautiful creatures that deserve a better life. A life that’s worth more than a sandwich.
“It takes so much more land, water, and energy to raise animals for food than plants, and the process pollutes our air and water. Something’s got to change.” says Dr. Michael Jacobson, author of Six Arguments for a Greener Diet, Co-Founder and Senior Scientist at the Center for Science in the Public Interest, a non-profit, non-partisan consumer advocacy group. Dr. Jacobson is one of several experts who help deliver the “Let’s Meat Less” message.
Let’s Meat Less is a way to share recipes, videos, and ideas that help you take meat out of a meal. We aren’t interested in collecting or selling data and the website doesn’t even ask for donations—it’s absolutely free in every respect. We just want to share.
